“I’m the tax partner at mgr, giving tax advice to a wide variety of individuals and businesses. I’ve been working in tax since 1981 and have very wide experience of many aspects of UK taxation. I really enjoy advising on tax; it’s always interesting and challenging in a good way. I have particular expertise in the specialist areas of taxation of UK property and the taxation of ‘non-doms’ (individuals resident in the UK whose ‘home’ is overseas). I also use my expertise to help in legal matters, usually divorce.
I chair the Practitioner Tax Committee of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales (ICAEW), am on the Tax Technical Committee of ICAEW, and on the ‘Representative Body Steering Group – a forum that HMRC uses to engage with professional bodies, intermediaries, and software developers’.
Outside work, my interests include good food, cooking and gardening, including growing delicious things to cook and eat.”
